NPC facing wrong way during dialog

I have no idea what kind of error this is. It really isn't hardware .. and I'm pretty sure it isn't due to anything I've changed .. but man is it annoying. This is happening to me on the PC versions of KOTOR and KOTOR II with alarming frequency, but it isn't the rule (IE: only occasionally). Some examples..

The final scenes of KOTOR II had me staring at the back of Kreia's head through her entire dialog. If the ending wasn't already kinda crappy well .. I can promise you that didn't help.

KOTOR talking to the Doctor in the medical facility on Upper Taris.. when I open the door to see what he's hiding I get to be chided by the back of his head then offered praise by his ear due to the angle.

Any idea what might cause this or how the heck I could fix it? I have a few mods running but none of them tmk alter the direction of random NPCs. Also I was having this problem before I added any mods.

I don't think it's hardware related, but incase someone asks..

I think it might just be a buggy kind of element to the game. I've had this happen on numerous occasions, both games, with and w/o mods. But, if you positively HAVE to see their faces, just walk your character around them and stare. :xp::D (maybe even talk to them again, or restart game from last save --auto/manually--and do it again). It's not quite as bad as your game locking you out by going into a cutscene and NOT wanting to continue gameplay.

Usually it's because there is some sort of visual obstruction between the camera and the PC/NPC, like a wall or something. The camera is unfortunately not x-ray.

This usually occurs in cutscenes when your PC has gone a good bit away from the NPC involved in the shot.... ie running with turbo creating lots of space and obstructions between you and the NPC
