rocky348
Updated: july 26,2007 10:20 PM Ok I have made the necessary changes to the mod, it should now comply with the rules and regulations of this site. Once again, please be gentle, this is my very first mod. The following mod does a couple of things: 1) It lets the padawans and visas build their own unique lightsaber (note for USM users, the dlg files are essentialy the same, so if you want to use the mod DO NOT replace the dlg files I have given you. 2) it introduces my new battle armor which is usable by your padawans. (the way the armor is introduced is in the dialog that makes the npc a jedi.) 3) it changes the way you build your first lightsaber. (any mod that uses the baosaber dilog is not compatible, so if you have it, REMOVE IT) ok, here it is: http://www.freefilehoster.com/view_file.php?id=730&verify_view=1484287472 oops sorry the baosaber.dlg file was wrong, it only would have worked if you were darkside, here is the correct one just unzip it and overwrite the one you have now. updated July 28, 2007 2:51 pm. For the 11th time i have fixed baosaber.dlg here it is http://www.freefilehoster.com/view_file.php?id=737&verify_view=1002111382
ChAiNz.2da
Sorry, but the textures are "borrowed" from various mods. Thankyou to those fine people who designed them. If what I have done is wrong, sorry i will take it down. From your readme: First, it gives three different hilts, one is for darkside only, and is from the "jedi sith hilt mod", the other two are from the "USM mod". (this means they aren't compatable with this mod right now, so if you have these two mods, REMOVE THEM, or figure out what changes i made and adapt them) I have to ask, did you get permission from the USM'er that designed whichever saber you're using (or from the Jedi Sith Hilt Mod author)? "Borrowing" stuff from other mods isn't really smiled upon here without at least making an effort to include the original author... Until you can clear up the matter, I'm sorry but I have to temporarily disable the link I realize it's your first public mod, so please don't let this discourage you in any way.. and if it's just a matter of getting permissions, then I suspect this mod to be up & running in no time

rocky348
If you also included the custom model files (.mdl & .mdx) in your own mod, then yes.. ok i will take out the mdl mdx and use the default hilts then. sorry it wont happen again. in case your wondering why i dont get permissions, its because i dont have email, and i can't get it for various legal reasons. ciao for now

Heck, if you tell us which saber it was in your post, then the original modeler could probably give you an A-OK right here. I'm at work so I can't look over the mod and compare the model # to which saber... otherwise I could tell you immediately who to ask. It'd also still be nice to ask the other author (not familiar with the Jedi Sith Hilt Mod) for their permission's as well if you used any base custom items. In any case, just let me know what you'd like to do. Like I said, I'm sorry I had to disable the link... but I'll be happy to help out (within my limits) in order to get things straight and get your mod up and running

Like I said, I'm sorry I had to disable the link... but I'll be happy to help out (within my limits) in order to get things straight and get your mod up and running great, i didn't realize that was you, ok the hilts, and im using the file names, were:t7_atton01,t7_maul01. the third hilt i used was from antoher mod called the "Jedi sith lightsaber", but i can't find the authors name in any of the txt files. So unless this person happens to read this post within the next week or so, i will re do the mod to take out the sith hilt. otherwise, that should be all chainz, the big heartbreaker was the hilts from your usm mod, so if you guys and gals don't mind, i would like to keep them. Just note, my mod cant be compatable with it, because of the dlg files i use. As for the battle armor it cam from the Jaffa mod. I dont know who did this one, but I changed the armor to a different style, (ie, not revan)colored the armor black, and changed the uti file to give it totally different properties. So if i read one of your posts correctly, with this one, all i have to do is delete the mdl mdx file and it should be ok? Thank you for your patience ciao for now update: wait, now that i think about it, with the dlg files, all a person would have to do is add or change the trigger of the scripts to match what i have, or i can figure out how to use the tslpatcher to update them like it updates 2da files. Guess ill have to write a section for that in the readme file.
rocky348
incase anybody is interested the following link is a screenshot of what the male characters look like right now with the armor i modified. Note, baodur and the females dont have the color like attachment. If i have to delete the mdl mdx files, that is how it will look. Maybee if the designer of this mod sees this screenshot, they can give me permission to keep it this way. screenshot for the armor ciao for now
ChAiNz.2da
the big heartbreaker was the hilts from your usm mod"Our" USM Mod I was but a tiny portion of the USM Team. Not nit-picking on you, but I've seen this statement alot recently (other posts) and just wanted to make it clear that I was just 'a part' of the grand-scheme. My name is first because it's alphabetical As for the battle armor it cam from the Jaffa mod. I dont know who did this one, but I changed the armor to a different style, (ie, not revan)colored the armor black, and changed the uti file to give it totally different properties. So if i read one of your posts correctly, with this one, all i have to do is delete the mdl mdx file and it should be ok? I dunno, from the sounds of it...Unless it's an absolute custom model, I think you're in the clear. You've re-skinned it with your own skin (without adopting parts of Jaffa's?).. then it really is your armor Especially if it's using a normal, already in-game base model for armor. Sorry if that sounds confusing, but as an example, - if I were to re-skin Bastila's outfit.. then it's my skin.. but not my model. I used the game's version. That's free-roam for everyone. - If I were to re-skin Bastila's outfit, but use resources from another modder's skin (like I did with my Revelation Robes) then you would need to get permission.. (like I got with svösh way back then). - If I were to re-skin a saber, but it was a brand spanking new one (ie USM not BioWare tubes) then I'd want to get that modeler's permission. ok the hilts, and im using the file names, were:t7_atton01,t7_maul01. From the sabers you listed, those were T7nowhere's. He'd be the one to ask for permission since they were models he made from scratch.
rocky348
you know what chainz, i have decided to bite the bullet, and learn how to do this my self. So im going to try to skin my own lightsabers. I have seen some of the tutorials you and other people have written, and they seem pretty easy. So im going to basicly start from scratch with this stuff, and do what I should have done to start with. Thanks for everything will open a new thread when ready. Or can i still use this one? ciao for now
