[FIC]Exile

Have any of you never wondered what the Exile faced after his judgement before the Jedi Masters? Have you never wondered how he spent ten years of his(/her) life?

I've been thinking of a new KotOR story to start, and this came to my mind as i started playing KotOR2 to get ideas. I think that very few people have done this before. I've been planning on how to do this over the past two days(It's a little hard to fit in ten years into one fanfiction), and i've decided to split this up into different parts.

Critique as harsh as you want, but be constructive, please! The first chapter is very short. The next will be longer, though.

Well . . . Enjoy! ;)

PART ONE: Shadow of the Past

Chapter One:

Derrick Shan sighed as he ran his hand through his brown hair, and then scraching his rough, scraggly stubble etched onto his face. His grey eyes were solemn and defeated, as if he had just lost something dear, having it ripped away.

He looked out at the crowds of people cowering about the dark roads, shadows looming about at certain turns, smoke and gas wafting through the air. He brushed dirt off of his torso, which would later be known as Sith Assassin Robes. The ground was covered in filth and tiles were always broken here and there. Insects swarmed around everywhere, and dirty beggars filled the streets. He wearily lifted his eyes up at the huge skyscrapers looming above them, as if they grazed the sky.

But most of the light was blocked out to thsi slime pit that was the Corellian Lower City. Derrick gathered hsi breath and walked on. He noticed that occasional fights and a few brawls broke out amongst the crowd. He shook his head in disgust.

His eyes then flickered up to A large hangar out in front of him. It was made of tall, long, and broad walls of rusted steel that was ripped open in a few places. The hangar looked like it could contain about three standard class smuggler freighters.

HE noticed that outside the square that he was standing in, there were five landing pads on each side of the square, with the hangar at the front.

"Well, that explains all the people," Derrick muttered to himself. In Corellia, people usually gathered around the ports.

He rubbed his baggy eyes as he walked on towards the hangar. The door was wide open, revealing one large smuggler freighter about the size and design as a luxury yacht. He walked on towards it.

* * *

Derrick dumped the stack of credits on the old and rusty table. "A hundred credits," he said hoarsely with no emotion. "I'll give you a hundred credits if you let me join."

The Kel-Dor blinked with his contorted yellow eyes and looked up. He had sickly orange skin, looking as if it had been twisted around and stuck on his face. He had brown armor with strips of cloth down his belt and over his shoulder as a cape. [What? This vessel belongs to the Crime Lord Darassa! You have to be a skilled assassin or gunman, or at least technician to join this crew. What skills do you have?] he demmanded in his deep, gruesome language.

Derrick scoffed. He took out an Echani Pistol from his belt, and lifted it up. He fired, and the thin jet of laser hit on of the screwholders on the wall straight-on.

While the Kel-Dor was staring at his accuracy, Derric ran over to the computer. When the Kel-Dor turned his head, he found that the system had been hacked and a virus was penetrating the mainframe.

Derrick grinned. "Am I worthy? Am I, a man with nothing to lose worthy to work on this yacht? Hmm?" He gave a short chuckle. His smile quickly faded. He screamed, "I've faced horrors that you won't see in your nightmares, you filthy alien! I have faced death itself, and kissed it, tasted it on my lips, yet having it stripped away from me when i needed it most!"

As he was panting, he felt his eye blur, and then focus somewhat. There was somemoisture down his face, and then a salty taste on his tongue. He looked up ang grinned. "Drop me off on Onderon," he said simply.

I had an idea like this a while ago (it failed miserably), but this is good. Is Derrick Shan related to Bastila Shan by any chance? Anyway, it is nice to see you again, but there are two other Fan Fics to finish off (and will you come back to FanFiction.Net?)

Looking forward to more.
