They proberly have different behaviours but these are likely the basics:

HOSTILE_1 = Hostile/Enemy

FRIENDLY_1 = Passive/Friend

HOSTILE_2 = Hostile/Enemy

FRIENDLY_2 = Passive/Friend

NEUTRAL = Passive

INSANE = Hostile/Enemy

PTAT_TUSKAN = This is most likely Hostile/Enemy

SURRENDER_1 = Passive/Intimidated

SURRENDER_2 = Passive/Intimidated

PREDATOR = Hostile/Enemy

PREY = Maybe Hostile, or maybe will run away from combat?

RANCOR = I think hostile with some changes to behaviour

GIZKA_1 = Most likely passive

GIZKA_2 = Likely passive

I am not sure about the:

GLB_XOR, TRAP and ENDAR_SPIRE

Can someone explain what these different factions do/are?

Factions are groups assigned to NPCs/creatures that determine how they feel about other NPCs, and how others feel about them. The standard factions are specified in repute.2da. The columns in this file specify a standard faction, and the rows specify how members of that faction feels about members of the other factions.

There are three reputation types a standard faction can have towards another faction:

0 = Hostile, will attack faction members on sight

50 = Neutral, indifferent about members of this faction

100 = Friendly, will aid if a faction member is attacked

In KOTOR grenades and other similar offensive attack forms with a blast radius will harm NPCs who are hostile and friendly to the attacker, but will not harm those who are neutral. This is to avoid having wandering NPCs who aren't involved in the fight getting accidentally killed during fights.

For example the GIZKA_1 and GIZKA_2 are neutral to all factions except each other, where they are Hostile to the other Gizka faction and friendly to members of their own faction. (Resulting in a behavior where members of one gizka faction will attack members of the other, but will not be hostile towards the player or any other NPCs.)

Another example, this time from TSL, is the PartyPuppet standard faction. This is special in that every other faction is either neutral or friendly towards it, while the PartyPuppet faction itself is hostile towards factions that are hostile to the player. This results in members of the PartyPuppet faction attacking enemies, but it will not be attacked back by them since they don't consider the faction an enemy.
