Runtime eror after third fight with Handmaiden

After I do the third fight with the handmaiden on the Ebon Hawk and offer to train her as a Jedi, Kreia says "Betrayal" and I get a runtime error. The first time it loaded me back to the main game screen and froze.

 

I get a runtime R6025 error described as "pure virtual function call". I have searched Google and found two other people that have had my problem, but each reply to their problem was not a solution but just to do a search.

 

My game is patched, and my system is as follows:

 

Windows XP Pro SP2

MSI K8T-Neo2 v2.0

AMD 64 3200+

LA support did the typical support run through and could not help me with my problem. "Start a new game" "Update your drivers" "reinstall the game" blah blah blah. I did all these things and I tried it on another PC. It's the same issue.

I tried just continuing the saved game and not recruiting her as a Jedi. Now whenever I try and go to a new planet the game throws me back to the loading screen.
