Hmm... This isn't directed specifically at you Lordjedi, but I am noticing a disturbing trend in the newer modders around here.

Before asking such a broad and general question it would benefit all of you to first check out mods that do similar things and see what went into them file-wise, and what was done. Looking at other peoples mods to see how to do things is the most invaluable resource you all have, but it seems the newer posters lack either the time, patience, or iclination to do so. Sad really.

Edit: To try to answer your question you need to alter the appearance.2da file to replace one of the pre-existing body model slots on the various PC appearance lines with your new body model. (Bandons is N_DarthBand, and it is good to only replace Male PC's as the body is male), you then need to fix textures for all the possible texture variations that body model slot you selected uses, you specify the texture in the cell next to the model cell, you then name the textures accordingly with a 01 at the end on up to howmany texure variations are needed. Then when you equip an item of the specified type you will see the model you specified and the texture variation you specified applied to it. You can see an example of this in my Make Canderous a Dark Jedi Mod.
