Exile007
The title says it all, how do you do this stuff? I read the tutorial by Darth Insidious, but I still don't get it! Do you just take the textures and edit them with GIMP, or what? I don't understand. What files are you suppose to replace? Ugh!!! I don't have KOTOR 1, so if someone could give me an example of reskinning KOTOR 2 that would be great!
Super Nashwan
I'm learning this myself at the moment so I may be able to help. I replaced a texture just as an experiment and it seems fairly straightforward. I used Kotor Tool to extract one of the texture files under: ERFs>TexturePacks>swpc_tex_tpa.erf. This extracts it as a tga file, and you save it to a temp directory. Then I re-edited it with Photoshop and saved it again. Then I just stuck it in the Override folder of Kotor and it popped up in the game. I think it's the same process for Kotor 2. I think Darth Insidious' tutorial was for reskining an entire level so I'm not sure it would be exactly the same process, but it might help. Marius Fett
Yeah DI's tutorial was for Module (area/"level") reskinning which is really something for more experienced modders. If you're after skinning items it's like SN said in the post above. A good place to start would be a robe or some armour. There's a link to my Robe tutorial in my sig, try it out!. Exile007
Whoops, I forgot something I already know how to reskin items. But could someone help me with the module reskinning, it should be fairly the same right?
