PadawanGirl Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 I just reinstalled KOTOR 1 and ever since, when I start the game, or go to a movie cutscene, the brightness goes way, way down. I have to pause and reconfigure it in-game to the correct (as in I can actually see) brightness. Why is it doing this? Nothing but my hard drive has changed. Why is it like that? Why doesn't the brightness setting stay how I put it? Thanks!

Did you ever figure out a fix for this? Mine's doing the same thing. The brightness goes way way down after movie cut scenes, but it also happens not only on the initial load, but with savegames as well. WIN XP Pro AMD Athlon 3200 1 gig RAM ATI RADEON 9800 pro Latest Drivers of course.

PadawanGirl Posted March 10, 2008 Author Posted March 10, 2008 Both the power supplies and the monitor are the same. The only thing that changed was that I got a new HD and had to install it. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice but it happened then, too.
Q Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 What I'm getting at is that your power supply might be winking out when the game is accessing your hard drive. This can happen with old or otherwise weak PSUs.
