PadawanGirl
I just reinstalled KOTOR 1 and ever since, when I start the game, or go to a movie cutscene, the brightness goes way, way down. I have to pause and reconfigure it in-game to the correct (as in I can actually see) brightness. Why is it doing this? Nothing but my hard drive has changed. It's still XP home, still the same drivers. For a better mental picture, here's an image from the start screen of the game: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=b47n00&s=3 See how dark the screen is? Why is it like that? Why doesn't the brightness setting stay how I put it? Thanks!

PadawanGirl
When I load my game initially, yes. Save, no. When a movie cut plays, yes. I have no clue what's up with it. Never did that before. is it when you load and save the game

Did you ever figure out a fix for this? Mine's doing the same thing. The brightness goes way way down after movie cut scenes, but it also happens not only on the initial load, but with savegames as well. WIN XP Pro AMD Athlon 3200 1 gig RAM ATI RADEON 9800 pro Latest Drivers of course.
PadawanGirl
Alas, I've yet to figure out a solution. I'm glad to know that it's not just me having the problem, though. Q
This is a stab in the dark, but what kind of power supplies do the two of you have? What kind of monitors?
PadawanGirl
Both the power supplies and the monitor are the same. The only thing that changed was that I got a new HD and had to install it. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice but it happened then, too.
Q
What I'm getting at is that your power supply might be winking out when the game is accessing your hard drive. This can happen with old or otherwise weak PSUs.
