rictus135
1. I recently saw some threads talking about how it is possible to add a new column to a .2da by saving it as a .xml editing it as you wish and then reopen it using kotor tool and saving it as a .2da again. Simple enough process. However when I tried to edit the .xml using XML Notepad 2007 I realised I would have to update each individual row of the .2da seperately. (Of course I have never used an .xml editor before so it is quite possible that I simply don't know how to do it.) Is there a way to edit them all at once? 2. I am trying to add new columns to the appearance .2da at the moment, (specifically new model and texture columns,) and realised I wasn't even sure how/if it can be done successfully. For instance does the appearance.2da support this? And can I add say modelo/texo after the modeln/texn/texnevil columns or would they need to be at the very end? Any help in this regard would be much appreciated.
Ferc Kast
1) I'm unsure as I never heard of doing it that way before. 2) I've tried to make new columns in appearance.2da; It doesn't accept new model/tex columns for whatever reason. It seems to be hard-coded into the game.
Darkkender
99% of the 2da files will not handle new columns being added to them. The reason for this is because the game expects a set number of columns and will crash no matter when if you add columns to 2da files. So unless really really you know which ones can handle it and what your doing "DO NOT DO IT!!!".

That's an unnecessary amount of work for something that simple. I'd recommend that you use Kristy Kistic's 2DA Editor instead, it should handle adding new columns much easier. Just rightclick on the column name headers and there should be an option in the popup menu to add a new column. 2. This will not work, as far as I know. The game has a fixed number of body variations and will not look for additional model/tex columns beyond the standard ones, unfortunately. Some 2DA files support dynamic columns, such as many of those required to add new classes, but not all of them.
