The Tingler Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Hi guys, I'll leave this one up to your boundless knowledge. Are there any good free Recording programs out there to record videos of games? In particular, I'm after one that works with ScummVM. This rules out FRAPS. Any other options? Unless you know of a way to get FRAPS to work with ScummVM!
s-island Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 This is probably totally unhelpful, but ScummVM is open source and it already has a screenshot feature. If you know C++, you could make it save every frame and put them into an AVI file. I don't know of any third-party programs that do this, unfortunately.
The Tingler Posted May 6, 2008 Author Posted May 6, 2008 You're right! That was totally unhelpful! Sorry, I jest. No, I don't know C++ or indeed any sort of programming language. I don't know why FRAPS doesn't work in it, so I'll need an alternative...
The Tingler Posted May 6, 2008 Author Posted May 6, 2008 Nah, didn't work. When I start to record ScummVM just minimises. It doesn't do sound either, although that's not critical.
tk102 Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 On the ScummVM forums, I saw a thread that mentioned DOSBox was capable of extracting video from ScummVM. There was another thread that mentioned the use of Hypercam.
The Tingler Posted May 13, 2008 Author Posted May 13, 2008 I'll give Hypercam a go, but I hate Dosbox. Fiddly thing.
