Juhani progression glitch

I recently just started playing KOTOR again, and I'm having a slight problem with the Juhani sidequest that I'm hoping someone could help me with. For some reason, the game won't let me advance the plot with Juhani so that I can obtain her sidequests.

 

I'm just about to start the Leviathan, and ever since Dantooine, the journal entry for Juhani has been stuck on "Juhani has told you of how she idolized Jedi in her youth and dreamed of being a Jedi. It would seem that she has succeeded in her desire. Maybe talking to her later will reveal more about her past". But every time I try to talk to her, I don't get any of the dialogue options to advance her plot and hear her history. I'd like to be able to get the options so I can complete her sidequest, plus I'm playing as female for the first time so I'd like to have access to that story as well.

 

Has anybody else encountered this before, or know a way to fix it? Perhaps a variable I could change with KSE? I tried using it to change the journal entry, but that didn't help. I'm assuming this is just a glitch, as I don't recall saying anything that could put an end to my progression with Juhani. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Definitely have had poblems--it's a touchy quest line in that if you don't talk to her after every level up, or you don't say the right thing, or you don't take her off the ship to have her in your party often enough, the quests just won't trigger. Check gamebanshee's site for Kotor to see the quest line and what to do to advance along it.

Thanks for the suggestion about leveling up. That does seem to be one of the causes of this glitch. With that suggestion, I did some experimenting with KSE, and it seems that progression with Juhani is tied in with the ability to level up, not just being at a certain level. I have a mod installed that allowed me to reach level 20 before I added Juhani to the party, and thus being unable to level up anymore, it caused the progression with Juhani to stall. I never really thought of this being a problem, since reaching level 20 so quickly didn't cause any problems for the other sidequests. But I used KSE to downgrade my level and then leveled up again after having Juhani, and this partly corrected the problem.

 

I also had to use KSE to reset the global "G_JUHANIH_STATE" from 1 back to 0. What exactly this variable does, I don't know, but altering this variable and downgrading my level has now allowed the progression with Juhani to continue and I can now access the mission with Xor.

 

After playing around, it definitely seems the Juhani sidequest is a bit buggy, and I'm glad I managed to solve my problem. I just thought I'd post my solution here in case anyone else encountered a similar problem with Juhani.
