as i promissed on this topic , im gonna explains that thing about my gf moving in. My girlfriend is moving in. there, hope this helps jk. ive been w thsi gf for over 2 years, and now im here in the US for an year or 2 (miss her ) but we still talk every day (and i used to have a camera, so i had netmetting, but it broke), but we ve decided that wehn i go back, shes moving in. NO, NOT W MY PARENTS. i forgot to tell, i have my own house (which is cool, because i can leave my socks on top of the tv). i sold the house for a 2 year contract, w a german that is staying in brazil for 2 years [lucky!], and i took the stuff to my parents house in brazil, and they took their stuff to their new house here in the US (yes their living here, my father is working for the MIT). i was staying for 6 months or so, but then i decided to finish my junior year and maybe my senior (actually they convinced me, because they dont want me to go. my little sis long left, lucky her... i like it here though).

anyways, back to my gf business, my parents dont give a damn, but her parents and the rest of the family dont want her to move w me, they say its wrong (her gramma wants to kill me). they must be really innocent if they think we dont fuk if we dont live together.

anyways, i just wanted ur oppinion in living together w/o marrying. wrong? right? u dont know y u r wasting ur time reading this? wot?

Ummm I dunno, if it was me, I wouldn't wanna live with my bf unless we were married or until a few months before our wedding (assuming we were engaged) everyone is different. My brother moved out with his gf at the start of the year and they have a joint lease agreement for a year, but a few months ago she literally cheated on him, and now she's going out with some 50yo guy (dunno the exact age, he's heaps older than her, he may as well be a sugar daddy for all I know) and he wants to move out, but he can't coz of the lease agreement. I guess that's something I'd be worried about. It's up to you though Al

Sometimes I'm forced to listen to others opinion and when they have finished, my answer can be:

"I’ve heard what you have said but now I’ll do what I think is best!"

Usually that is the best solution.

That goes for you and your girl friend too.

good point, my father said that to me. but i think im pretty safe.

and i dont think shes a termite (well thats wot we call women tahat like old men... well tahts because slang for di*k in portugues is "branch"-->hard to translate, its like brach, but i means pretty much any wood/ . so if the girl likes old wood, its a termite )

but yeah, i know a guy taht was planning to get married, and his girl ran away w her personal trainer. harsh! but she was definitly crazy. my gf was the one that noticed actually so i dont think tahts gonna happen to me.

Ummmmmmm Al? How old are you then? Sorry, I guess like Murta said, the majority of people on here are young, and no offence, the spelling is pretty shocking I think I need to write down everyone's age and where they live- just so I don't make an idiot outta myself again

I'm not very religious, although I do believe in only living with your bf or gf only when you've married the person, and not beforehand. Friends are different though in my opinion. Like I said, everyone is different, but after what's happened to my brother, I don't think I could cope going through the pain he has. This guy is always over at their house, so it would hurt him a lot, and I know how much he loves/loved her, and he did everything for her, it's not a risk I'd wanna take that's all, but that's my opinion Al, don't listen to the silly little Australian girl Half the time she babbles on and has no idea what she's rambling on about

b4 she came, i was paying my house alone, so i can still pay it wo her; if she breaks up w me, ill be no more sad/shocked than i would be w we ddnt live toghether. and it doesnt mean, like a friend said, that i ll be stuck w her w we live togheter. we still can giva break, see other ppl, but live in the same house... i dunno, i dont see y not...

I'm all for cohabitation. I lived with a bloke for 3 and a half years and the relationship turned nasty. At the end of the day, it was my house, so I just kicked him out. If we had been married, it would have been a lot more messy and difficult. i could have lost my house and everything. I was 19 when we moved in together, which looking back was very young to settle down. Al, please don't think I'm patronising you or anything, but you are very young. As you grow and develop mentally into an adult (again, I'm not saying you are a kid or anything, but I consider myself to be still maturing and I am a lot older than you) both you and your g/f will become different people. you may change together, or you might mature into different people. This is what happened to me and my ex. We were both kind of the same, at first, at a bit wild and mad, but as I got older, I calmed down a lot and found his behaviour unacceptable.

Anyway, I'm going on again, you have to do whats best for you. Listen to other peoples advice if thats what you want, but don't let other people tell you what to do. People might dissapprove of co habitation, but if you don't have a problem with it and thats what you want to do, then you have to do whats best for you. Part of growing up is gaining independence, and making decisions for yourself, not letting your parents decide for you, it gets to the stage where it is not your parents place to tell you what to do.

Everyone is different Personally if my bf asked me to move in with him I'd say no coz that means I'd have to see him everyday and he'd annoy the hell outta me. Hmmmmm maybe that's why we've lasted 2years... we only see each other between 1-3times a week so I don't get sick of him The thing that freaks me out sometimes is he always asks me where do I see our relationship in 5years time. Farkin hell I dunno, I'm 19, he's almost 26, and I'm not very good at planning longterm, half the time I can't even plan something for the following week, how the hell am I supposed to think forward 5years? Things change and I'm tempremental. I know how much he loves me, infact he's said to me once that he wants to spend the rest of his life with me, and while I love him, I don't think I love him enough to marry him, if he did ask me, besides, he's my first bf

amen feral! look at romeo and juliet, juliet was fourteen and that wasnt no fuc'kin puppy love. 13 year olds can love. it is possible. and we can commit because we (yes, here comes my equal person speech) are equal people to 21 year olds. knowing how to commit is a different story, but if you love someone so much that you wish to commit to than you better do it. screw the odds or the age or the level of maturity commit when commitment is wanted, not when it is prefered.

Frenchy's totalitarian government. If the policemen in her government have any suspicion of you loving anything before the aforesaid age, you are incarcerated for no less than 5 years, or the time until you reach 21, whichever sentence is greater.

All I have to say is people put to much emphasis on the ages 18 and 21, or whatever age you reach majority at. Age is just a number, not who you really are.

True. Although in some cultures, it used to be that people got married at around 13. An unmarried 20-year-old would be considered an old spinster.

It was puppy love. They just never had enough time to realize it. They knew nothing about each other--the only thing they knew were what each other looked like, and their names. Add to the equation that the two were from opposite sides of fueding families, and they think they were destined to be, because it makes their affair all the more forbidden, and therefore, something they want to pursue even more.

If the two had lived on without the miscommunications between them, chances are that things would not have ended happily for them, anyway.

frenchy has a point, the younger u r, the more u have to live. but its not like im getting married or anything, shes just my roommate, but we sleep on the same bed(<IMG SRC="http://www.escapemi.com/forums/smilies/cwm12.gif" border=0>). actually, a roommate was my original idea. i wanted to get a roomate from my group (no, not the AA, my group of FRIENDS ), but my cousin is in Italy cause his grandmas dieing <IMG SRC="http://www.escapemi.com/forums/smilies/cwm36.gif" border=0>, the guy that is 9 hours older than me is working as a trainee in Möndal , Al woudnt wanna, cause his parents r nice, and the rest im not tha close. only then me and my gf decided to live together.

weve already discussed taht: we R gonna fight, and we R gonna have "time-outs", and its ok to see other ppl then, as long as we r honest to each other.
