CerebralStasis
First and foremost, and this is a problem that I know has been mentioned before, I can't seem to get Grim Fandango to work fully right on my XP Pro SP 3 machine with Intel Core 2 Duo processor. At first, sound freezes and such, so I put it into 95 (or 98--I tried both) compatibility mode to fix that, and then the cutscenes are choppy. I could endure it, but there are just so many cutscenes, it drives me insane. I've heard that if one turns off hyperthreading that will fix it, but there is no hyperthreading toggle option listed anywhere in my BIOS, so either my processor doesn't support hyperthreading, or my BIOS doesn't. Furthermore, I don't have any anti-aliasing, regardless of whether or not video hardware is turned on in-game. How can I enable that? EDIT: Oh, yeah, and I have the patch installed. CerebralStasis
Alright, I'm still having troubles with no anti-aliasing, but by following these instructions to the letter, I've stopped both the audio glitches, freezes, cutscenes issues, and everything. It's great! Can someone sticky that thread? It took a lot of effort to find it.
Thrik
Glad you worked it out. At some point I'll be doing a full review of the many technical issues and making it easier to find solutions. Feedback on solutions that work are always useful.
