All right, I'll tell you how to do it. It requires having the Mdlops Tool. And KTool... Of course.

First, a crash course. Since Oldflash made it so it replaces existing sabers, I'll tell you the numbers.

mdl '01' - Blue

We'll use blue today, children. We're gonna change blue to red. Before we begin, create a new folder (In your override) and place the mdl and mdx of w_lghtsbr_01. So, open up the Mdlops, and, as you selection, choose w_lghtsbr_01 (the mdl) and click "Read and Write." Click the "Renamer" function near the bottom of the mdlops screen (not the black one, the one where you click Read and Write) and you'll see the planes. Planes are the color that you see at a certain angle. On a whim, I gave each plane a different texture... the results turned it into a rainbow saber! :^:

Anyways, open up KTool, and find the textures. (I only know the path for textures for TSL, but K1 has a different format, I believe.) Open the W section, and scroll down until you see the group of textures with the first texture called "w_lsabreblue01." (with a .tpc extension) and one of the files is called "w_lsabrered01" (.tpc) remember that. Bring back up Mdlops and the Renamer window, and replace all the planes with the red saber color texture. (Replace all w_lsabreblue01 with w_lsabrered01) and click OK. Close out of Mdlops, and open up that folder with the mdl you just edited. There should be a set of new files in there. That is normal, not malware o_Q

Anyways, take the files that say "modelname-k1-bin.mdl/.mdx" and keep them in mind. Delete the "modelname.mdl/mdx" files, and rename the bin files to the original modelname files (so, if the original was w_lghtsbr_01 rename the bin files to that), and delete the ascii and txt files. Now, put your new mdl/mdx back in your override (Unfortunately, Subfolders don't work in K1, IIRC)

Now, if you wanna do your example above, it'll be a bit more complicated, but only a bit. Do exactly as I did above, but keep the mdl/mdx of the 2 sabers seperate. To find the Qui-Gon saber, just place each mdl/mdx pair (all the w_lghtsbr_## mdl/mdx) and open them seperately in Mdlops. I believe that Heart of the Guardian is one of the last two. So, open those up, and see if the files match up. (To find that out, open KTool back up, go back into the texture packs, and find the series of saber colors. Find the saber color you want (AKA the Orange))

Change the planes in the Heart of the Guardian to w_lsbregren01 and the change the planes in the Green (which should be w_lghtsbr_03 or 04) to Orange. Then, repeat what I did above, and dump back into the override.

If you have any problems, please, tell me. And, I'll try and fix it.

hey thanks for the tutorial it's great now i could switch red with blue but my example was harder so i'm just wondering if you could do this for me as soon as i get permission by oldflash

*sigh* I'll see what I can do.

Also, you don't really need permission from the author unless you plan on releasing it. If its for personal use, then, its ok.
