urbanknight
So, not too long ago, i had to have my pc rebuilt, new everything, better than it was before. Before the rebuild, both KOTOR & KOTOR 2 ran fine on my pc. I reintstalled both after the rebuild. Now, the graphics are bad, dark shadows over everything, the game is choppy, it's auto clicking on npc's that can be talked to & i can't stop it from repeatedly clicking on them, all around a frustrating experience. did the hardware scan through the game, here's what it showed: OS: Windows XP v5.1 build 2600 Service Pack 2 (exact same OS i had before the rebuild) CPU: 2x AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ (2210MHz) (my old CPU was an Athlon 3200) RAM: 2047 MB (only had 1 gig before) HD: C: (NTFS), UNICODE 403.88 GB free ( had 130 gig before) Video: Warning NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 512 MB Graphics recommended: ATI Radeon 9200 or better, NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti or better (128 MB VRAM) (Mine is better, so i don't know why i'm getting the warning) Open GL NVIDIA Corporation - 2.1.1 DirectX DirectX (9.0+) (4.09.00.0904) So, i tried lowering the graphics, all my drivers are up to date. I don't know why i'm getting this problem. Can anyone offer some advice? Thanks.
Q
The GeForce 8 series is notoriously bad with these games. Were you using this same card before you had these problems?

GeorgNihilus
UPDATE: figured out it was a dual-core problem. DL & installed the dual-core optimizer from AMD & now all is well. Sorry but ... how well? I mean, I'm gonna buy a NVIDIA GeForce 8400 for an Intel DualCore E2200 CPU on an Intel DG31PR board and I wanna be sure enough both Kotor and TSL will work after all the mods I've added to Override ...
