Jedi-Heady
Please could a skilled moderator tell me what programs I would need to make a new NPC on a planet in TSL. I would like to make own little quests and stuff in the am but I REALLY don't know what I am doing, I am not a computer programmer or modder. If you can't tell me what I need and to do please recomend somebody who could help me with this, I just want to make my game a lot bigger with little quests of my own. And I would ask somebody to explain this to me as simple as possible please!

The basics you need for any modding, is: KOTOR Tool K-GFF GIMP Tk's Dialog Editor A Script Maker/Compiler(ktool has one) GMax for modeling Also there is tutorials for stuff like this. A spawning script should be enough, with a few changes, check the tutorials such a thing would be in either General Modding or Scripting. For A NPC you'd need: UTC files(the C is character)make one by editing one in ktool. Be sure to change resref and tag areas. I normally use the same thing for each. Ex: Ryloth_dude1. A Spawing Script Dialog. ^Most of that is done in ktool except you make the dialog with Tk's dialog editor. Check the tool section for all the tools. For A NPC in a CUSTOM module, youd edit a GIT file.
