need help with KOTOR1

hi guys i have a really annoying issue.

 

when i go to dantooine and get the first map i go get in the ebon hawk and the screen goes black and will not do anything else. no other issues to report and i cant go any further in the game because of this issue

 

I have vista SP1 x32, q6600 at 3.2GHz. 4gb of ram at 800MHz.

directx 9 and 10.

 

i have put the game in xp sp2 compatability mode i have tried several of the suggestions on here and reinstalled KOTOR (i have BEST OF dvd) i have tried the new exe but it repeatedly asks me for cd 1 which i do not have anymore.

 

please help me out here guys

I would uninstall and re-install--I don't believe it should ask you for CD1 if you have the 'Best of' DVD.

 

Please see this thread (clicky) for information on how to post all your specs here besides the ones you have listed above. The forum gurus need that for diagnosing your problem. The info you have above isn't enough.

hi here is the issue in more detial.

 

I have finished taris and now im on dantoonie doing the jedi training. i have saved juhani and found the star map. after the breifing from the council i run towards the ebon hawk and i get within entering distance i.e. 5-10foot and the screens goes black and i can do anything besides using alt+f4 to exit (or ctrl+alt+del)

 

this is a clean install from the best of DVD. version 1.3b. i am using vista sp1 32bit. i have done the fix that work but it has no affect i have done a new game. and it still happens male or female. i have spoken to securom and they say it have nothing to do with them. the .exe file that people have put links does not not work either and it asks for the cd disk 1 and refuses to accept my best of dvd.
