Graphics Problem With Mods

Recommended Posts

I am experiencing what seems to be a unique graphics problem in KOTOR II. This happens ONLY with mods:

If you can see in the screenshot, the robe colors are sort of blotchy and don't blend right--it looks a lot worse ingame. This is supposed to be one of the robes from "90SK's SUPER Content Mod," by the way, and the colors definitely don't match the screenshot on FileFront. The same effect happens with ANY mod I've downloaded that changes robes or armor.

Now, before anyone says anything, I repeat--this is not a problem with my game or graphics in general. All the default items look great. I also don't think it's a matter of me not knowing how to install mods, since I always follow the instructions exactly and have used many other types of mods in the past for both KOTOR I & II.

I have tried removing all other mods, reinstalling the game, using both the patched and unpatched version, every combination of graphics settings I can think of, using a different driver, and have looked all over the Internet for the same problem. The one clue I have is that it seems to involve .tga files, since a loading screens mod I have has the same problem.

If this is in the wrong section or if I should have gone to Tech Support or the official sites (Obsidian, LucasArts), sorry, but since the normal game works fine, I thought I should post here. I don't know what info about my computer you might need, but I'll put it up if necessary.

It would be very rare to get something matching the screenshot on KotOR Files... When I take screenshots for ForceFashion people often moan about the screen being to dark as an example. From the screenshot I can't see anything wrong, but the picture is tiny on my monitor anyways. What operating system are you using, what's your graphics card and how much ram do you have? In theory your computer could be having an issue with the tpc pictures now being in .tga for mods. Regardless deductive evidence says when your one of the few to have this issue the problem is related to your computer over there being an issue with the mod.

Given your asking for help you may want to let us rule these things out ;) It would seem though give the input you've given for some reason your computer is not liking .tga format.
