New body model problems

Problem: Random polygons. As you can see, I tried to get Atris' body model as a wearable clothing, like mjbp3's Atris mod. As you can see, I failed. Here is what I did:

 

1) Imported oldflash's edited atris model (the one he made for mjbp3. I only used it as a template for mine), than merged in mine (I had the base model in another max file)

 

2) I had max auto-rename the items that had the same name.

 

3) I took the ones in my model that weren't renamed and memorized the ones I am supposed to get rid of.

 

4) I opened up the max file that had the original atris model, and I deleted the ones I'm supposed to. I assume this is where I went wrong. :(

 

5) I exported (as goem)

 

6) ran through the replacer (following the steps very carefully, and having to restart only once! :p)

 

7) saved the new model files into the override folder, so that they replace the "Armored Flight Suit" model.

 

8) Copied the Atris texture into the override, and renamed it to replace the Armored Flight Suit texture.
