Overbound
I just got a Radeon HD 3850 the exact one can be found at newegg. Anyway according to the hardware scan this card doesn't meet the recommended specifications. Huh? And on top of the that the game seems to skip frames for instance when I run its smooth for a second and then there's like a jolt and the running animation starts over this repeats over and over. This happens even when I'm on the lowest graphic setting possible. I apologize if I that isn't the best description its the only way I can think to explain it. It may be worth mentioning that all my other PC specs meet the recommended requirements and I'm running XP pro Service Pack 3 and the newest version of Catalyst. Q
Give this a try. You'll need to do the same for KotOR1 if you ever play it: First, figure out where the .ini is installed. Default is "C:\Program Files\Lucasarts\swkotor(2)\swkotor(2).ini". If its not in that location, then your going to have to do some searching around on the hard drive a bit. When you find it, just double-click on the file to open it in Notepad. Scroll down the file until you find the Graphics Options Under the last line ("last line" as in the last line of the list of entries under "Graphics Options", NOT the last line of "swkotor(2).ini), add "Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1", without the quotes. Goto File, then Save. And disregard what the game's diagnostic says about your card, as it was written long before the 3850 was released. As you may have already guessed, it's more than powerful enough to run the game.
