Wolfskin75
So after reading a lot of the idea and such, I have decided to mod. this is what I hope to learn how to do. 1.) install a piece of my favorite song in the cantina on telos as well when you dance for that hutt. 2.) mod some items (i.e. make the hunter's eyes into a pair of Oakley mad dog sunglasses) 3.) ... and just basically making new things... and having fun. does anyone have any pointers. and I want to thank Te Mirdala Mand'alor for inspiring me sooo
Prime
A bit hard to tell what pointers to give, because it isn't clear from your post what exactly you have learned so far. What tutorials have you read? Have you tried anything so far? And welcome to the forums!

You would just need to find the correct music file in the "StreamMusic" folder in K2's main directory, and replace it with the music file. If the music file you plan to use in game(your fav. song) isn't the same file format as the files in StreamMusic, you may need to covert it. 2. For what you mention, you'd need to get into modeling, as well as learning the aspects of Kotor Tool(since you'd need to model the glasses first, then change the uti file of the item to point to your model, rather than the game's model. 3. That is a broad statement, but it still depends on what you want to make. New weapons, new lightsaber designs, etc(which requires a modeling program such as Gmax). Again, Kotor Tool becomes essential, even if you just start with texture edits.

What tutorials have you read? Have you tried anything so far? And welcome to the forums! oh sorry. I haven't tried anything so far. I read ... how to mod a item (i think..) but it was all greek to me. I downloaded all the programs I might or might not need. I haven't even installed any of the programs yet. I guess if you have any suggestions for reading let me know. I want to do the mods, just really careful about getting into it. soooo... to answer your question. I have learned nothing and know only the results I want. (that's what I get for being an artist). 2. I wnat to get into the modeling. I have downloaded a TON of mods and, where I like them, it just kind of inspires and inflames the artist in me to really take hold of the game experience. 3. Again, Kotor Tool becomes essential, even if you just start with texture edits def. new weapons, new lightsaber designs.. but most importantly new bodies. I know this is going to sound weird... but I was really inspired with the new types of clothing (or lack of clothing). I am hope to have some fun. JuniorModder
You should read some of these. http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/info/Tutorials These will tell you how to model weapons, then integrate them into the game. Well, as I've heard many say, it seems that either game doesn't like dealing with new body models, something about not being able to just "apply" animations to a body model, I can't be sure. But with lightsabers or new blasters and the like, new models aren't a problem.
