DarthSlinky
I was looking in Scum/Assets/DefSchemas today and I found a bunch of files like: Ability.schema.xml.z Checkpoint.schema.xml.z ... I thought: xml files great I will change some stuff, but when I opened them up in my xml editor (notepad++) its garbage :compcry: I tried to open them in a decompressing program (IZArc), nothing I looked at similar xml files and they are of similar file size so I determided they probably are not compressed So I came to the conclusion they are encrypted or they invented their own xml format So want is going on here any ideas, I don't want to try to decrypt a file that is just some weird format. Any ideas? Darth Slinky:thrawn2: ps: please do not disregard my post because of my n00b status
Zwier Zak
I tried editing those but just like you I've had no luck. Let's face it TFU is about as mod friendly as 5 dogs to an old man locked in a closet.
DarthSlinky
Darn I guess I'm not the only one with this problem. I don't get it, so many Star Wars games have to mod friendly, I still play JA because they released the source code for it, you can make wonderful mods, TFU nothing... Zwier Zak
They never released the source code for JA. It's just that the content's of the game are not encrypted.

purifier
It sounds to me like your gonna need a File Conversion Software that will convert the files to another format, so they can become readable for your other program(s); in which you want to edit the files with. I'm no expert, but that's what I would try next.
