vanir
what does the error message say? (I suspect an error code # like x000000013265 or something). I'd do a web search on the error code, that should tell you specifics (it might be a video card error for example, the specifications might pass but in action the particular type is not supported, or it might be a pagefile error and you have to change its size, or it may be a vram accessing error and you have to change the arpeture in the bios to compensate using the system ram I think, and so on). Do you have any other graphics intensive games installed on that computer and do they run okay? I'll tell you a similar story just after I upgraded my graphics card a few years ago and tried to start up Kotor expecting to finally up the settings to some good visual quality. But I got the same thing as you, an error message. Put my old card in and it worked. Tried the newer one and it didn't...well it started up but then crashed with an error message. Took me hours to figure it out. See the newer breed of video card had an external power connector, I run a home office drawing power from the USB ports and I didn't think to upgrade the system power supply to compensate. This isn't going to be your problem, I just mention it as an example of the wide variety of possible issues.
