TSL Changing targets problem

I have a very weird problem with TSL (It showed up after i reinstalled the game).

Computer have too big, hmmm, power over my main character - it puts additional default attacks where he can, change targets etc. He does that so qucikly that sometimes i can't even controll my characer without pausing the game whole time. For example - battle start, i pause the game, I order all characters to do different kinds of attaks etc, but after i unpause the game they just run to random enemy and hit him with default attack, THEN they use my order. It's veeery frustrating.

I heard that's a common bug, but i couldn't find a topic about it, and it's the first time i see somthing like this (and i completed TSL like 4 times)

Please help!

I'm sorry if i chose wrong place to post this bug, i wasn't sure if this problem belongs to Padawan's Lounge.

This forum is generally for technical problems with functioning of the game rather than strategy and gameplay tips and bugs.

One thing which helps your problem sometimes, is pause, then you switch to a character to select their attacks, first cancel their attack mode. Then hit the default attack to bring up the attack mode, then click on the default attack icon to cancel that particular attack action, then finally select the actions you want that character to perform.

It's a bit buggy I know, there is an AI fix made by stoffe I think, called Improved AI (download it at kotorfiles). I think this helps. Sometimes you just have to take over cNPC's and micromanage them, it's a game bug.

In Kotor 1 especially, with the difficulty turned up, if I've got poor equipment and a bad choice of companions when I get jumped by Bandon I've got to switch the combat-round autopause on to stand any chance, or else turn down the difficulty for that encounter. Buggy AI when the odds are stacked against you is just too much.

TSL is more of a walkthrough though. Even with custom difficulty (set to 3 or 4 manually in the swkotor2.ini file), without rebalancing mods to tone down overpowered PC/CNPC's there is no encounter throughout the game which requires any micromanaging or even the slightest care what the AI is doing.

About the worst thing that happens is Atton keeps dying and getting up in the Telos Mercinary base battle if he's still running around in his ribbed jacket, which is annoying. Just die already, stop half dying Atton.
