Lunar4
Alrighty, so before I even tried to play this game I made sure I did all the steps in the "get K2 running on Vista" thread... anyways... It runs, but its sooo slow. I'd have to guesstimate im getting like 3 - 5 fps at best. I have disable vertex buffer objects=1, and all settings at very low. Thing is, the "Can you run it?" site says I fail to meet the minimum because of my graphics card? Its a ATI Radeon Xpress Series, the site says I pass video ram (with 894mb), 3D, and H&L, but still says I fail the graphics card section? How is that even possible? Q
Please post your specs using the game's configuration utility: Post your system specs Sometimes we're just not going to be able to help you if we don't know what kind of hardware you have on your machine. If you don't know what you have on your machine, then follow these steps below: Bring up the launcher menu for Kotor 1 or 2. Click on "Configure". Click the "Scan Hardware" button on the lower center of the window. Click "Yes" to continue. Click "Details" to view your system specs. Click "Save Report" and save the file to your desktop. Whenever you post your problem, open the file you just saved and copy and paste the contents to your post. This will tell me exactly what hardware your system has and we'll go from there. Q
Both games came out long before Vista, and are incapable of identifying anything newer than XP. I looked up ATI Radeon Xpress, and it's an integrated GPU that's very, very weak, even by 2003 standards. You're going to have to run the game at 800x600 with low texture quality and with AF, AA, frame buffer effects, shadows, soft shadows, grass and everything else in the graphics menu turned off, with the notable exception of V-Sync, which you may or may not need for the game to run at all. If you find that the game will run without V-Sync, then leave it turned off. Look in the "Advanced" menu and make sure that all that stuff is turned off, too.
