ME.mk XII
Ok, I updated my pc about a month ago, but due to some problems with the windows instalation I had to re-do the partition (and thus lost all my archives) Once I finished installig the appropieate drivers, I proceeded to install KOTOR, but just after updating and launching the game the game says I don't meet the basic requirements, when I click the more (or whatever it says) in the opengl check it says I have the 1.1 version. This makes no sense, if that was so it would be impossible for me to play F.E.A.R, so I just went and checked my drivers and it all checked, the latest drivers. I still can't find a way to fix this (short of re-doing the windows instalation) as for OS\hardware: AMD Athlon X2 processor at 2.9 GHz Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS with 512 mb of video memory Zotac motherboard AMD socket 3 gb of RAM OS: windows XP sp3 professional Any ideas on what might be hapening? Q
Well, the game's configuration utility is from 2003, so it's not going to recognize newer drivers, but you can still use it to post your specs, or at least what it thinks they are () and we can go from there: Post your system specs Sometimes we're just not going to be able to help you if we don't know what kind of hardware you have on your machine. If you don't know what you have on your machine, then follow these steps below: Bring up the launcher menu for Kotor 1 or 2. Click on "Configure". Click the "Scan Hardware" button on the lower center of the window. Click "Yes" to continue. Click "Details" to view your system specs. Click "Save Report" and save the file to your desktop. Whenever you post your problem, open the file you just saved and copy and paste the contents to your post.
ME.mk XII
ok, just have to reinstall it. Oh, before I forget, after the message I simply launched the game and it sent me to the fullscreen mode before returning to the desktop where the lancher had moved to the lower left corner of my screen, and when I start it as "open as" to start it as the admin, it shows a prompt saying the instalation is faulty and needs to be redone. ME.mk XII
Here's the list, thogh after reading it, I think I've seen the problem, no idea on how to solve it though... So, any ideas on how to solve this, or any link as to where ask this?
Q
You'll need to do two things. First, the Dantooine lag fix: First, figure out where the .ini is installed. Default is "C:\Program Files\Lucasarts\swkotor(2)\swkotor(2).ini". If its not in that location, then your going to have to do some searching around on the hard drive a bit. When you find it, just double-click on the file to open it in Notepad. Scroll down the file until you find the Graphics Options Under the last line ("last line" as in the last line of the list of entries under "Graphics Options", NOT the last line of "swkotor(2).ini), add "Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1", without the quotes. Goto File, then Save. Second, you'll have to set CPU affinity to a single core every time you launch the game: After starting the game, press Ctrl-Shift-Esc to bring up the task manager. Right-click "Knights of the Old Republic" under the applications list and select "Go to process." Right click on the highlighted process (probably something like (sw)kotor.exe) and select "Set Affinity..." In the dialog box that comes up, deselect all but one core. Then return to the game and see what happens ^/_\^ Just remember that you'll need to do this every time you start the game. Lastly, make sure that your video card driver and monitor can support the game's resolutions (800x600, 1024x768, 1280x960, 1280x1024).
ME.mk XII
Y Second, you'll have to set CPU affinity to a single core every time you launch the game: Lastly, make sure that your video card driver and monitor can support the game's resolutions (800x600, 1024x768, 1280x960, 1280x1024). Tried that, but as soon as I click play, the game switches to the previously dicribed action and closes, without alowing me to do anything and my video card suports those resolutions, tested them recently on Prototype and FEAR 1 and
