X-Plosiv
Hello all, Before I start this thread, let me apologize for my grammar mistakes you might encourter. English is not my primary language. I need to say I played a lot KOTOR 1 and 2 on my XP, and now I would like to play them on Win 7 x64 Ultimate too. Before I ask my question, I need to say when i had Win 7 for first time, I installed Kotor 1 and had problem same as now. Then I had XP, and now I again got back on Win 7 and planning to stay on it. I runned Kotor 2, and can play it without a problem. Except for one bug, I have searched all over the internet for it and could not find it. Though Ill bet its some stupid bug that can be easily done and im just too blind to see it. This is problem: When Im runing with my character, when I stop running, he keeps running, and then I need to tap button for going forward, and then he would stop running. This doesnt happen every time, but every 30-60 seconds. Its pretty annoying. Same things happens when Im running and holding button to turn right/left. When i stop, sometimes camera just going around my character, and then I tap my button. Now, before you ask is it because of buttons, I need to say its not, because I play other games without problem laughing.gif tyvm in advance
Q
It would be best if you were to reinstall the game according to the instructions in this thread. The proper order for installation, patching and fixes is printed in large type at the top of the second post. Read it carefully, and do everything it says. From personal experience I can say with confidence that it works on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
X-Plosiv
Hey, I followed your thread, and now controls are excellent. I`m playing in resolution 1440x900 though btw, is there some tweaks to make this game run smoother? I have closed all windows or programs that take memory, I just run TURBO mode on TuneUp to get little speed, is there something more or some tweaks to the game? Everything is off that can slow a little (in game such as AA, etc.). tyvm for helping me so far
Q
Glad to hear that it's running. Use the game's utility to post your system specs and we'll see what we can come up with to improve performance. Post your system specs Sometimes we're just not going to be able to help you if we don't know what kind of hardware you have on your machine. If you don't know what you have on your machine, then follow these steps below: Bring up the launcher menu for Kotor 1 or 2. Click on "Configure". Click the "Scan Hardware" button on the lower center of the window. Click "Yes" to continue. Click "Details" to view your system specs. Click "Save Report" and save the file to your desktop. Whenever you post your problem, open the file you just saved and copy and paste the contents to your post.

Q
OK, well at least it isn't an Intel GPU, but you've still got pretty weak graphics processing power, so you'll need to turn off all eye candy. No AF, AA, frame buffer effects, shadows, soft shadows or grass, and set texture quality to low. You need to set FullScreen=1 under both "Display Options" and "Graphics Options", and you might want to check and see if turning V-Sync on improves your framerate (if it worsens it, turn it off). You should then be able to select a few effects and still keep an acceptable framerate, but maybe not.
X-Plosiv
I turned all off before...ima try this with vsync, thanks for advice
Q
According to the report, you have not turned off anisotropy, frame buffer effects, grass, shadows and soft shadows. 1440x900 is also not supported, so I haven't a clue how you're getting it to run like that. Try 1280x768. The game actually supports that.
X-Plosiv
Well, first time when I installed Kotor 2 I just putted 1440x900 in swkotor2.ini, and it worked. Second time It did not, but I used Uni 1.3 patcher to sw kotor 2, then I went into swkotor2.ini and changed it to 1440x900, and it worked. Graphic works nice, all menu is excellent, not big, not too small. I can get few screenshots if you want, Im using HP 6830s (17" screen). Now everything fine
Q
Good to hear. Enjoy your game.
