Now how do I get my crew up out of their lawn chairs and working the ship to get us to MI? Am I supposed to cook something for them in the kitchen?

Tried to blast myself to Monkey Island out of the cannon but he keep saying, "I have no desire to blast myself out of that cannon!" Did I miss something on the ship? What do I do now? Please help!
