Razzerian
This is a double post as I also posted it as a responce to another topic, but just to make sure it doesn't get looked over: I tried changing the .ini file but it keeps crashing for me... I've just ended up after the Levithian and I'm in the gun turret, it keeps crashing everytime I finisht he minigame int he transition to the next video or loading screen or whatever.. (I am not sure since then my crash pop-up spams the screen... I have Nvidia GTX 260 1024 mb 3D card. (the hardware checked gives a "warning!" at my graphics card -> riiiiight...) 3GB ram and a 32bit processor Using XP service pack 2.. You might wonder "How the hell did you get so far in the game without crashes?" Well.. I got loads of them I just saved A LOT and when I knew I was gonna get a crash from previous experiences I just saved a fraction of a second before it would crash and then restart from that point on. Sadly that is not possible when you're manning the gun turret.. This is seriously letting me down, I started playing KoTOR two like a year ago but never got around to play KoTOR one... Bought it a few weeks a go on the interwebz but it keeps crashing... I mean come on, an original game should not crash and if it does there should be some propper support for it even if it is 6 years old I still payed for the bloody thing >.<
Razzerian
I don't know why it sez I only have 2k ram but I actually have 4 (3 active since it's a 32bit windows) <.< But meh.
Q
You'll need to do two things. First, the Dantooine lag fix: First, figure out where the .ini is installed. Default is "C:\Program Files\Lucasarts\swkotor(2)\swkotor(2).ini". If its not in that location, then your going to have to do some searching around on the hard drive a bit. When you find it, just double-click on the file to open it in Notepad. Scroll down the file until you find the Graphics Options Under the last line ("last line" as in the last line of the list of entries under "Graphics Options", NOT the last line of "swkotor(2).ini), add "Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1", without the quotes. Goto File, then Save. Second, you'll need to assign CPU affinity every time you launch the game: After starting the game, press Ctrl-Shift-Esc to bring up the task manager. Right-click "Knights of the Old Republic" under the applications list and select "Go to process." Right click on the highlighted process (probably something like (sw)kotor.exe) and select "Set Affinity..." In the dialog box that comes up, deselect all but one core. Then return to the game and see what happens ^/_\^ Just remember that you'll need to do this every time you start the game.

Q
Please post your specs using the game's configuration utility: Post your system specs Sometimes we're just not going to be able to help you if we don't know what kind of hardware you have on your machine. If you don't know what you have on your machine, then follow these steps below: Bring up the launcher menu for Kotor 1 or 2. Click on "Configure". Click the "Scan Hardware" button on the lower center of the window. Click "Yes" to continue. Click "Details" to view your system specs. Click "Save Report" and save the file to your desktop. Whenever you post your problem, open the file you just saved and copy and paste the contents to your post.

Q
Weird. This error is common on multi-core systems when CPU affinity has not been set. Are you sure that you're doing it right?

Q
You tell me Am I? Yes, you are. You certainly have a funky custom theme going on, there. And this is what I'm (still) getting OK, what's this "just in time debugger" s***? Obviously, there's a conflict, there.
Razzerian
Well it has to do with Visual Basic, (if you know that programme?) It was trying to debug everything and was getting on my nerves a lot so I threw it off my pc, but this is a remnaint of it I figure.
Q
Well, that's most likely your problem. You're going to have to figure out a way to completely get rid of it. Look for any leftover files and folders and delete them, then download CCleaner and use its registry cleaner to mop up any leftover registry keys. Razzerian
I already use CCleaner so I'll give it a good whipe away and let you know.
Razzerian
Removed all related folders I could find and did a sweep with Ccleaner but it still keeps crashing I'm afraid. I've kinda lost the will to fix it tbh >.<
