paralaje
I decided to play KoTOR once again after a long time, but I had to give up because the game was constantly crashing for no apparent reason. At first I had some mods, but then I reinstalled and tried a clean game and I had the same issue. After a few hours of tries I gave up and uninstalled it. The next day I decided to play KoTOR2 instead, only to find out I'm having the same problem. TSL crashes a *lot* less than KoTOR but it's still very common and it happens mostly during combat. l do have some mods installed, but I'm inclined to think the problem comes from someplace else. I searched the forums but I came up with nothing. My system specs are: PIV 2.26 GHZ 1.25 GB RAM ATI Radeon x1650 (latest drivers installed) Windows XP x32 Service Pack 3 I hope someone can help. Thanks in advance. EDIT: I forgot to say I've played both games on this computer in the past without any problems. I think I had an Nvidia card back then, but it died. Q
You should try two things. First, the Dantooine lag fix: First, figure out where the .ini is installed. Default is "C:\Program Files\Lucasarts\swkotor(2)\swkotor(2).ini". If its not in that location, then your going to have to do some searching around on the hard drive a bit. When you find it, just double-click on the file to open it in Notepad. Scroll down the file until you find the Graphics Options Under the last line ("last line" as in the last line of the list of entries under "Graphics Options", NOT the last line of "swkotor(2).ini), add "Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1", without the quotes. Goto File, then Save. This second one could help with any OpenGL problems: I downloaded ATI System Tools, created a game profile where I set Direct3d and OpenGL settings to Auto Balanced and it worked like a charm! paralaje
After many, many crashes I made it past Peragus and now my game is crashing significantly less. It still happens from time to time. Tried both things and it didn't fix the problem, however. Thanks you.
