Quanon
Hey hey, I got your PM! Well, let me try to explain it all Ready for a lengthy post? Here it goes: - You don't need the game engine, what you need is a 3D modelling program: Such as 3D Studio Max from Autodesk=> expensive, but you can get it somewhere else, for "free". Another option is to go for Gmax, a scaled down version of an older 3Ds Max program. Totally free, no "funny" detours to get it. - Once you got your 3D modelling program, you'll need the NWmax plugin. This plugin helps us prepare our models for the game. It also contains import and export routines. So we can get models from the game into our program, or the other way around. - 2 other tools you'll need is MDlops and Kaurora. These handy programs, convert our 3D models to a file type that the game actually uses for levels and other 3D stuff: guns, swords, speeders... etc. - Ofcourse you'll need KotorTool and K-GFF aswell; cause to setup a level you'll need to make certain other files besides a 3D model. I think that covers it broadly on what you need, I'dd suggest you have a peek at the tutorial section at the top of our forums. It's a bit cluttered, but it does have all the info you need to get a start. Mind that you're going for a difficult ride, it's not something you'll get done in an afternoon; be prepared for a load of frustration and redo's EDIT: This tutorial thread, has a series of little video recordings I did on making a new level: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=195385 This is a rather quick and dirty guide: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=184166 Not directly about level making, though it could give some insight on how the mentioned tools work: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=184825 Oh, do mind this last one is pretty old, did some stupid things in there I think: though just give it a read.
