TOR may give answers but you must pay to play, also any proof of were revan dies?

Recommended Posts

ok so i have heard that TOR will be a mmo and to play you must pay like 15 a month right? but if u think about it right then in a few years wont the story be posted on what happened to revan on wookiepeedia eventually? so why would i pay to play? personally i as a fan wanted a rpg not an mmo the experience of an mmo may be fun but it is not like an rpg, in the mmo it is interactive and i personally prefer a game like star wars to be a my self only character based game i don't want to have to compete against other players online all i want is the story i could care less about them. That is my take on the mmo of TOR they should have made a rpg or kotor3 in other words to continue the series kotor not some mmo that will only give a brief to mild explination at best from what i can see that it will do. what is your take on LA's decision to make it an mmo?

and next eventually revan will die sadly but does he die in the unknown regions unlessi am correct that it remains a mystery, should he die in there or what you guys think?

Not quite certain about Revan, still reading D. Karpyshyn's book. But...

1. Why did you play KotOR 1 & 2 then? After all, it's been posted on Wookieepedia, even the Exile's spanking-new canon name. So what's the use? I'm assuming you DID play those two.

2. AFAIK, TOR is a MMORPG. Same as normal cRPG, but online. Nobody forces you to play online games.

3. If you want free MMO, download D&D Online or LOTRO. But beware: they're kinda dull. No idea what TOR's like though.

4. How much did you get both KotOR's for? They're not free either, unless you got pirated copies.

5. And last but least - the sentence "in the mmo it is interactive and i personally prefer a game like star wars to be a my self only character based game i don't want to have to compete against other players online all i want is the story i could care less about them" is not written correctly. Long bunches of sentences merged into one are difficult to read, even if you're Joyce :p

Revan...well it's supposed to be a mystery what happened to him. I have read all of the book. I have seen the spoilers in the game. Two very different things could happen and decide Revan's ultimate fate. Then again I am not altogether sure the 2 sides are exclusive of one another based off what I have seen. I'm not going to explain any further about Revan, go find out for yourself; I care not how. You'd want to play for the experience and social interaction obviously. The story is already posted up on youtube I'm afraid. If you just want to find out for interest's sake and don't care to play, then watch. If you would rather forge your own version of the tale, then play it out. Wookieepedia will try to reconcile things as it always does. Unfortunately only some events may be recorded as canon. I'm sure the rest has already been planned as to explaining the who, when, and what: expect a lot of "There seems to be a conflict of [at least two] accounts of just what happened or who did [insert event], in some cases it is jedi, in other cases it is sith".

TL;DR: Too many variables and contradictions to truly know *everything*. Some will be accepted for which there's no alternate, some won't. Others will be duly congruent or concurrent meaning both sides will have had their role.

Far as Revan:

he shows up again in some form,

but I don't wish to post spoiler videos.

I for one am not afraid to spoil the **** out of this (but hey, nobody's forcing anyone to highlight the white block below).

Per several spoiler videos of TOR on YouTube that can easily be found, it is clear that Revan's final fate is, after being put in stasis by the Sith Emperor for 300 years, he shows up in two quests, one for either side of the war and one chronologically taking place before the other. The first, the Republic one, has the players waking him up. The second, the Sith one, has you find him in some space station the details of which I don't care about, and because your party is Sith you fight, and you kill him. He dies quoting Darth Malak's final words before exploding in some energy burst thingy somewhat reminiscent of what happened when Palpatine died in RotJ (as well as a few other Jedi/Sith in the EU). Plenty of people want to ignore the narrative context of the scene and claim that he's still alive, but it's most likely that unless someone in charge of the stories does some serious bending-backward, it's the last we'll see of him.

There, now go write a fanfic that's better.

I didn't like how it ended tbh.

I neglect SW:TOR's existence. lol

call me crazy, this is unconfirmed that Aing-tii's Teleport does have a large burst of energy with it.

Remember this quote, "I sub your reality with my own." Also Nothing is true, Everything is permitted. Also Everything is True, Nothing is Permitted.

I do think that Revan and Jedi Exile only exist in TOR for two reasons, 1)Milking a cash cows 2) Fans overeager to see them again.

As for me due to my fanboyism, I rather not have them in TOR and keep them in Kotor.
