Q
If you didn't the first time you're going to have to reinstall the game according to the large-print instructions at the top of the second post in this thread. Do everything they say (as it pertains to your particular hardware configuration) and in the order that they tell you to and the game should run fine. Draphen
The link for mss32.dll does not work at the moment, but I've done all else so far. I hope this works.
Q
That file is crucial. Here is the fixed link. You might have to try it a few times because something appears to be wrong with Filefront at the moment.
Draphen
well, it still crashes at the same place as before. Is this mss32.dll file only for vista? I have windows 7. Here is what I did and the order: Set compatibility Installed Updated I think I replaced the app with Securom version, not sure. Am I supposed to DL that or do I already have that? Where exactly is that? Made everything non-read only Replaced the mss32.dll file Read step 6 and didnt know what it was talking about Set compatibility
Q
I think I replaced the app with Securom version, not sure. Am I supposed to DL that or do I already have that? Where exactly is that? It's an updated version of the game's executable file that's been made compatible with Vista and 7. If you haven't downloaded it then you don't have it. Read step 6 and didnt know what it was talking about It's what I just explained above. What about the other stuff, like updating DirectX, the Dantooine lag fix and configuring your Intel graphics drivers to run the game? You have to do all of this stuff and in the proper order or the game is not going to run correctly, if at all.

Draphen
Did you patch the game first? Is that the same thing as the updates?
Q
Yes, but to update the game with Vista and 7 you should download the manual patch and run it in Xp SP2 compatibility mode as an admin.
