Brocktree
I own a Windows 7 64 bit, with an AMD Phenom II X4 820 processor 2.80 GHz (not sure if you needed that). Anyways I just got the game after a 3 year break, I had it on my XP before and it ran fine, now I miss it and wanna get back to it. After dling, a screen popped up labeled SWKotOR System Info. and I failed two things OS Required: Windows 98, ME, 2000, or XP Video: Your current video drivers are out of date NVidia cards require Detonator 45.23 drivers or better. Could anyone gimme a dl link to both of these? And will it affect my computer if I dl them? I read somewhere it would change from Windows 7 to a 98 if I dled the 98. Will that effect my other games so I cant play them? I already followed those SUPER long instructions in large http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=194324 lettering. Q
And now for the obligatory canned response. Try using the game's configuration utility to post your system specs: Post your system specs Sometimes we're just not going to be able to help you if we don't know what kind of hardware you have on your machine. If you don't know what you have on your machine, then follow these steps below: Bring up the launcher menu for Kotor 1 or 2. Click on "Configure". Click the "Scan Hardware" button on the lower center of the window. Click "Yes" to continue. Click "Details" to view your system specs. Click "Save Report" and save the file to your desktop. Whenever you post your problem, open the file you just saved and copy and paste the contents to your post. You can leave out the keymapping. Q
Thanks. OK, apparently, you've done everything you should've done, plus you have an NVidia video card, which practically guarantees that it will run and it it still crashes?! Color me stumped. Brocktree
Any idea how to fix these? Vid Card Status=Warning Vid Card Driver Status=Fail & Your current video card drivers are out of date NVidia cards require Detonator 45.23 drivers or better Also, in your instructions step 9 I never did, would that cause any problems? Idk how to do step 9 9) Those with an Intel GPU need to set the "Flipping Policy" to "Blit" as instructed in EDIT #6. Note that you might have to download and install Intel's drivers instead of using the ones that shipped with your laptop for the Intel graphics driver control panel to be accessible. Q
The game is ancient and will say that about any newer video card. My Nvidia drivers are up to date and they "fail", too, and the game plays fine. You have an Nvidia GPU, so you don't even have to worry about step 9. In fact, since you do have an Nvidia GPU, there is no reason why the game shouldn't run. Brocktree
Heres something new, I completely reinstalled the game, and it gets past that little ship, then my entire screen turns black, and my cursor turns into the star wars version. Then I get Star Wars: KOTOR has stopped working. How do I fix that o.o? Disabling movies didnt work
