Darth Dan 012
So I play KotOR 2 on a HP Pavilion dv6 high-performance laptop. It has Intel HD graphics, which can run a fair number of games with minor issue. However, on KotOR 1 and KotOR 2, holograms appear as regular people (no blue effect). On KotOR 2 only, lightsaber hilts, swords, and the stealth effect are screwed up. Hilts, swords, and shiny armor appear as see-through, and stealth just surrounds characters with a white electricity effect. Is this really a sign that my graphics card isn't good enough to handle these effects?
Q
That HP's got a "second generation" Core i3, right? If so, then it should have the HD 3000, which is presently Intel's newest and best GPU. Unfortunately, however, it still isn't that great. Try playing around with the settings both in-game and in the Intel graphics driver control panel. You might be able find something that allows those pretty effects to work. Otherwise, you're just going to have to do without them.
Darth Dan 012
It has a Core i5 processor. I've tried adjusting some of the actual video card settings in the Intel menu, but so far nothing's worked. Not like it's a huge deal anyway, but I'd like to have the option.
