nomeansGonzy
Hey, I have a strange problem. It says I don't meet all system requirements to play kotor 1 and 2, but kotor 2 is working perfectly fine. In fact, I've almost beaten kotor II since I've installed it a little more than a week ago on my computer. But kotor I is being stubborn. Let me summarize this in one sentence: Kotor 1 starts up, I start a new game, get 1/4-halfway through the endar spire, the game freezes then crashes. Now I've already put both kotor I and II in the Windows service pack 3 compatibility, and putting it into service pack II isn't helping. What strikes me as the weirdest part is that Kotor II is working perfectly fine under the exact conditions. Kotor II only crashed once, and it wasnt nearly as bad as kotor I. it just exited out of the game. Kotor I on the other hand, freezes for a good 3-5 minutes then just exits. So what do I do? I guess it's more of the game is "freezing," but I've run out of ideas. I've re-installed and everything, I got the latest patch. Is this just a thing that will happen on the endar spire and I'll eventually get past it, or do I need to act upon this? Here's the info about my comp and such: [sWKotOR] ReportDateTime=5/5/2012 3:11:01 PM SysInfoVersion=v1.00.60 GameExists=1 GameVersion=v2.00.424 GameInstallLocation=C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\SWKotOR2\ [OS] Name=WinXP Version=Windows XP v5.1 build 2600 Service Pack 3 Service Pack=Service Pack 3 Status=Pass [swapFiles] ?:\pagefile.sys=0 [CPU] CPUCount=4 CPUSpeed=3386 CPUFamily=6 CPUModel=10 CPUStepping=7 CPUVendor=Intel CPUName= Intel® Core i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz Status=Pass [Memory] RAM=1024 Status=Pass [Disk Free Space] C: (NTFS), UNICODE=790.02GB Status=Pass [CD-ROMs] DriveLetters=D:\ Drives=ATAPI iHAS224 B [Video] Video Card Name=RDPDD Chained DD Video Memory=4096 Desktop Resolution=0x0x0 DirectX=DirectX 9.0c (4.09.00.0904) OpenGL Version=4.2.0 OpenGL Vendor=NVIDIA Corporation OpenGL Renderer=GeForce GTX 560 Ti/PCI/SSE2 NVidia Driver=(null) Vid Card Status=Warning Vid Card Driver Status=Fail GL Status=Pass DX Status=Pass
Q
Usually the opposite is true and it's KotOR 2 refusing to run. Any way, did you install the game according to the large-print instructions at the top of the second post in this thread? You have an Nvidia video card, so it should be smooth sailing once you do. nomeansGonzy
Well I had it running under Windows XP service pack 3, and when i switched to 2 it still didn't work really. As for that fix, do I need it? I mean what exactly does it fix? Also, I'm using windows 7 :l Yeah I just finished playing kotor II without a single problem the entire game. I don't know what I'm doing wrong here. Edit: Nvm you were talking about the second post. I think it helped. Thanks.
