marcus0311
I just bought a Samsung "all in one" touch screen pc with windows 8. I also bought the KOTOR collection. I've installed the KOTOR 1, it sometimes gets as far as the start page then I get an error message "program has encountered a problem and will close. windows is searching for a solution and then the bar shows it searching, then it just closes the whole thing down. I can't figure out what the problem is. Can anyone help me please?
Q
I'll need the model number of your PC so I can get an idea of what kind of hardware we're dealing with.
marcus0311
DP500A2D-A01UB s/N:HY2D91XCC00178A I've read that it wasn't compatible with Windows8,but I also read that some people were able to get it to work. I made it as far as the character set up page and when I tried to start the game it error's out, but doesn't give any reason for the error. Thanks OBUSHA for any help you can provide. Q
Sorry for the late reply. The game should run on an Intel GPU, but you'll need to turn off all or most of the eye candy. Since it won't run at all, your computer might not support 640x480 and 800x600; the game's default resolutions for movies and gameplay. Make sure these resolutions are supported in the Intel graphics driver control panel. If it still won't run, turn off all of the eye candy by going into your game folder and opening swkotor.ini with notepad. Change the values for antialiasing, frame buffer effects, grass, shadows and soft shadows to 0, v-sync to 1, and change the width and height values to 1280x1024, then save and exit.
