Kotor BOS Model problem

Recommended Posts

Hello Guys,

i downloaded the BOS mod and run into a sort of silly problem.

You know how you have to talk to yuthura ban on korriban to get into the academy. Well it's not possible because the model of "Drix Kelwit" is not actually one of a rodian "a favour for a rodian" but one of the force sensitive creature/smaller boss you encounter on Kashyyk down in the shadowlands.

So the way to the back of the bar on korriban is physically blocked by his wrong model.

I already tried searching for the exact problem in the forums and on google and did not come up with something useful. Also wrote a small email to the author of the mod with no response so far unfortunately. So i'll take matters into my own hands and would like to alter either the supposed rodians model / or his position in the cantina or yuthura ban's placement in the cantina on korriban.

If anyone might have some pointers as to how i can fix this without ruining the game and currupting my savegame and without interfering with other mods i would be quite thankful for suggestions.

Which program do i need to download? (To be able to solve the problem myself.)

Where do i find the single file which i have to alter to get the desired result -changing yuthuras placement on korriban-?

If multiple files need to be altered which ones, where, using which programs?

Thanks in advance for any tips.

You need to use Kotor Tool, which can be found at deadlystream.com, and open your appearance.2da file from your override folder. I can tell you right now that BoS isn't the problem; it must be another mod you installed.

Anyway, open the original appearance.2da file from the game's resources next to your override one and find any lines dealing with rodians. Then copy the data from the original .2da into your override one and save it.

You can find the original appearance.2da file in Kotor Tool by following this diagram(note "->" means and indentation in the tree):

Kotor->2da.bif->appearance.2da

That should solve your problem. There are tutorials and the Kotor Tool comes with a very thorough read-me file.

I found a possible Solution that might work. I can access my save via global variable editor.

I'll try if i can find the value that lets me into the academy and move the quests along.

I cant find the drix model information in the override appearance2da.bif.

Thanks for your quick reply nonetheless!!

It's a specific problem to the drix character all the other rodians show no errors ready to be shot first ;).

I just need to find out which row and label correspond to drix.

[update]

So i managed to find the wrong drix row and label in the appearance file. It was labeled as qerantanek in row 509.

I managed to replace it with a different model copy and pasting. Finally able to resume my game...
