Swamp - no clone? HELP!

I have the clock. Once I get on the raft and follow the directions to the gate (even though it seems I don't need all the directions to get to the gate, I just end up there somehow) no one is there. Where is the clone that I'm supposed to meet? HELP!

Any old fool can get to the gate, but if you don't use the clock's directions with the chart from the Prostheses shop, then you don't meet the clone.
