Best Monkey Island

I was just curious what everyones thoughts were on which Monkey Island game was the best. I felt that Monkey Island 2 was the best, and I think that Monkey Island 3 shouldn't have been made. Anyway, what are your thoughts?

MI1 was really good, in MI2 weren't any insults, MI3 was farout the greatest it had great graphics and gameplay. MI4...

in order:

monkey 1- i just loved the oldies

monkey 2-Great story and fun

monkey3- fantastic graphics and music

monkey4-to complicated to run for people who are not computer geniuses

I CANT START THE GAME!!!!!

I´m disappointed that our friend Murray didn´t have anything to do in EMI. It was looong way below his dignity to work outside a restaurang. Hope he will have more to do in next MI.

Got to be the first monkey island. EMI is very good but it is way too short!

Mine would be:

 

1. Escape From Monkey Island

(Feels different from the rest of the games, due to 3D nature, but is a lot more exciting and has a great plot and original features. Downside - Murray was slighly disappointing)

2. Secret Of Monkey Island

(Poor graphics and no speech, yet at the time was acceptable. Good story and nice to see characters and places from it were carried over to EMI)

3. Curse Of Monkey Island

(Too short, and quite boring in my opinion. Graphics were okay. Introduced my fave character - Murraaaaay)

4. Monkey Island 2

(Never really got into it. The game was massive! Also it didnt help, since I had it for my Amiga, which meant swapping 11 disks back and forward.)

1.MI2 - Atmosphere, great puzzels, and the most masterfull use of midi sounds I have ever Herd!!

 

2.MI1/3 CAn't decide

 

3.MI4 Still a great game, but too short and not challenging enough

 

I WANT MI2 WITH THE GRAPHICS AND SOUND OF MI4

AND I WANT IT NOW!!

This was here once, but I have changed my priorities after playing ALL of them again.

 

MI1 - Yowza! This game can't be toppled. This game had atmosphere, it had soul.

MI3 - Great stuff, good islands, technically the best of the bunch.

MI2 - Much too bleak at times (like Scabb island for example), and grim music. Still, somewhat smart...

MI4 - Hmm, somewhat of a mess. Still a good game, but...
