I read in a post a while back that someone has an "ever-revolving collection of divX movies." Whoever that was, would you try and explain to me where I can get divX movies, and what I have to do to get them? Thx.

Well, you can encode them yourself if you go to www.divx.com, and read some of the tutorials.

 

As for where you can get them, I don't think we should discuss it here.

DivX itself isn't illegal (just like mp3), some people just use it illegally. If you're looking for legal DivX movies, take a look here

those are ok. I think he's talking about full hollywood style movies, legally* converted to divx format.

Yeah, I guess you'd think the same thing if somebody asked in a topic:

You might assume they were asking where to download illegal "warez" copies of games.

 

Otherwise, the simple answer would be:

 

1) Go to the store or order online.

 

2) Buy Games.

 

3) Have fun!

 

Or in the case of DivX movies.

 

1) Take your movies (or buy some if you don't have any), and encode them in divx format.

 

2) Have fun!

 

No one is dumb enough to risk getting banned by posting links to sites or FTP's where a person can download illegally copied materials on our forums.

 

In fact if I thought that the thread starter was asking for this very thing, I might consider cracking down on him/her. ; )
