1MGxLeGion Posted December 4, 2001 Share Posted December 4, 2001 IS it just me or do these bad boys pack to much of a punch for cheap. i mean i watched 2 of these things take off 400 HP each, each hit so 800 everyhit plus a nice army defending them made them untouchable. They have great range, good rate of fire(to good i think for the amount of dammage it deals. POWERFUL BLAST CANNON. i seen two of those defended by a decent army eat up bases in a matter of minutes. I think the patch should address them i seen one guy playin as trade federation he had 15 of them surrounded buy 25 desrtoyer droids and 30 fighters for air defense talk about unstopable 15 of thos things could take out a tech 4 base in 1 minute. Guest Supreme Warlord Posted December 4, 2001 Share Posted December 4, 2001 The main problem with the cannon is that they must be deployed and so when you get attacked you cant immediatly move the cannons. So that is a BIG downside. I dont think they pack enough punch to be worthwhile but I am found sometimes to use them. I mostly use Destroyer Droids. But you have your opnion. captain_drake Posted December 4, 2001 Share Posted December 4, 2001 hey i'm not aguring their usefullness i'm just saying that if the enemy throws every thing at you youre in trouble becouces you have to defend the cannon/cannons all they have to do is destory it and retreat back to base or if you do have anti air defense they take out those and your cannon is defenless see that is balance the cannon is slow and easy to destory however it can tear apart a base realy fast Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

That is okay I planned to have a second base and escape from your wrath. That made no sense I just dont like cannon that much. I do see people use it but I kill it fairly quickly. I've been practicing with them more; two or three shots will take out most turrets, and the cannons lay far outside the turret range (even upgraded). Just bring two or three along with your main force; if nothing else, the first few shots will blown down some walls, get the enemy running towards you, and you don't have to wade into their shields and defenses. And I tend to bring a couple of air transports along; two or three cannons in a lander, and fill the other slots with workers to repair 'em. Works out pretty well. I always take several (5, 6+) to deal with turrets and fotresses while my forces take out any units so that my main force doesn't take damage. DashRendar Posted December 4, 2001 Share Posted December 4, 2001 Well hey with that you take out a large portion of the enemy's army then you just load the cannons into the the transports throw some troops in to guard them escort them with some fighters and bombers and move in to the enemy's base to do some major damage or even wipe them out. 1MGxLeGion Posted December 4, 2001 Author Share Posted December 4, 2001 yeah granted you can kill them easily but if they have a forward base near yours with sheils and a army equal size as yours you have to fight them in their sheilds. usaully getting killed by their fortress and army leaving you with no army. and than its game over. i know you gonna say well than don't let them build a forward base outside of yours but you know that is not always possible.
