Wraith 8
Well all...... tonight we in Holland are celibrating Sinterklaas. It is a sort of Santa Claus for you guys in the States. Well I for one say that the name Santa Claus come from our Sinterklaas... but that is a big theory. It is a kids celebration, but it is a holiday for over a 1000 years. The story goes that he is a sort of a saint and that he helped poor childeren by giving them presents. He lives in Spain and gets here on boat. he got helpers with him wich the dutch people named : Zwarte Pieten. translated: Black Pete's. they are black because of all the chimney's he has to go threw to give the childeren there giffts. The Birthday of The Sint is December 5th. and that is when we celibrate Sinterklaas Evening. we also have a lot of candy that go with this holiday, like: Chocolate letters Marsepein (spelling. or other word???) Peppernutts (couldnt think of another word) and a lot more. Well i just wanted to say to the Dutch people on the boards... have a nice evening and hope you get a lot of presents. -Wraith 9-
