Taarkin Posted December 8, 2001 Posted December 8, 2001 So there I was, browsing Morpheus for an old NES game I liked. I finally found one, DLed it, and went to go open it. Just to be sure, I scanned it with Norton first. I tried to open it, but it gave me one of those "What do you want to open this with" diologue boxes. To go look for whatever I nneded to use it, I pressed cancel. All of a sudden it changed into a Add/Remove Programs diologue box, highlighted EVERYTHING, and began DELETING MY COMPUTER. As soon as I saw "REMOVING PROGRAMS" I made a brilliant acrobatic dive to the power strip and turned this mutha OFF. If I had just gone to take a wizz or something, my couputer would be empty. So the moral of the story is to always use a cathader when on the computer.
Tierce Posted December 8, 2001 Posted December 8, 2001 Or don't use Morpheus and go take some DOS rip offs of the NES games..much easier
edlib Posted December 8, 2001 Posted December 8, 2001 It's amazing to me how some people get thier jollies. I took a hit from a JAVA-based virus last week. If my Norton subscriptions hadn't been up-to-date I would have been screwed. Fortunately it caught it and put it in quarantine for me. Did you lose anything?
JR2000Z Posted December 8, 2001 Posted December 8, 2001 You shouldn't be talking about downloading games here. It could get the mods into a lot of trouble.
Taarkin Posted December 8, 2001 Author Posted December 8, 2001 I'm not talking about downloading games, I'm talking about downloading viruses. Even though the status bar was somewhere past the Gs (goin in alphabetical order), my emergency shutdown prevented any losses. w00t.
edlib Posted December 8, 2001 Posted December 8, 2001 KEWL. Makes me think that I'm WAY overdue for a full backup though...
Tek Gunner Posted December 8, 2001 Posted December 8, 2001 I thought you were going to talk about how your father almost walked in while you were busy beating off. Haha, MY BAD!~@
Jem Posted December 8, 2001 Posted December 8, 2001 Why use Morpheus when you can download Nes Roms, or any other consol roms, from very fine sites. And remember, you may only download these ROMS if you own the respective official cartridges. If you don't, you must delete the ROMS in 24 hours (or less).
Nitro Posted December 10, 2001 Posted December 10, 2001 Right... And I have a bridge in Manhattan to sell you.
Flying Beastie Posted December 10, 2001 Posted December 10, 2001 GRAEME: Hey, dad, is that the bridge they named after you when you saved the city? ARIANA: Tell us that story again, daddy! LEXINGTON: *glaring* Yeah, Brooklyn, tell us that story. --TGS
Nitro Posted December 14, 2001 Posted December 14, 2001 Yupyup... That whole Matrix series is amazing...
