Guest Stryder
I'm about to get GB, tommorow actually and I was wondering if it's true what I've heard about in the random map option to choose what style the computer plays as i.e. aggressive, neutral, passive/defensive... Guest Supreme Warlord
Nope the computer plays the way it want depending on it difficultly level but however you can tell your units to take aggressive, neutral, stand ground, and etc. It is a cool feature about the units. So that what you may be talking about or asking about... hope this helps. Duder you are right.

No, not in the random maps. If you use the scenario editor to build a scenario, you can give the computer some "instructions", such as whether to defend an area. I haven't fooled around with scenario editing much in GB, but I know in AoE 1 and 2, you could tell the computer to be aggressive, neutral, or passive. I assume the same is true on GB, but I might be wrong. But that's ony when you edit a scenario. On random maps, you can't do that. However, there are certain ways you can modify what's going on. If you play a Conquest victory condition, the computer will be more agressive. It won't try to save up to build a monument (not that it ever does -- I have yet to see the computer start building one). I don't play conquest only much, because I like having the option of building a monument to end the game if my resources are such that it looks reasonable. Or if the computer's defenses are such that it just would be too much of a nightmare to try and invade him. Here's how the computer seems to act on AoK. I assume the same is true in GB -- it is true in all cases I have tried, but I have only tried about half. Conquest -- Agressive computer Deathmatch, Regicide -- VERY aggressive computer Standard -- Somewhat aggressive to neutral, depending on alliances. There are a couple of other types in GB that I have not tried at all in either GB or in AoK. Defend the Monument -- I imagine the computer will be highly agressive here, but I could be wrong. Build the Monument -- Here, I think there are no military units allowed. The goal is to be the best trader/resource gatherer. I have not tried it yet, but I bet it's a good "training" type thing. If you can win this one against, say, 3 other computer opponents, it'll mean you have really done well at managing resources. So for those who need help learning to do that without the computer breathing down your neck, this is probably a good one. Again< I have not tried it personally. But I think I might, some time in the next few days. It sounds interesting. May the Force be with you.
Zygomaticus
the computer on an easy difficulty is quite normal everywhere except ive noticed in a deathmatch he really starts conquering then:D
Heavyarms
no, it is usually exceptionally dumb. They need to watch the best players and use the way they play as AI. They could use me for a hard difficulty, I think.
