bsbuckeye21
Ack! Upon loading up the RTCW SP demo, it crashes to the desktop, after going through the Q3 loading window and changing the resolution. (And in "safe mode" as well.) It says "[the exe] has caused an invalid page fault in [unkown]". Unknown; great, just great. And the MP demo works fine yet to boot! If anything else, does anyone know of a good forum to post my misery?
Darth Simpson
Bah, doesn't sound good. Try the PlanetWolfenstein forums : http://www.forumplanet.com/planetwolfenstein/ Might find something there. Good luck! =)

Darth Simpson
The low-res graphics.... Huh? The game looks great! I agree with the SP being a little weak, and it was over too quickly. Bad ending too. It really shines in MP though, but that's been discussed elsewhere I think.
StormHammer
I should be getting the full game for Christmas. It should be good clean fun from what I've seen and read. I haven't even bothered to play the demo, because I know I'm probably going to like it. Good luck sorting out your demo problems, though.
Fruitloop
I DL'ed the SP demo and liked what I saw. While it was a little easy (even on Death incarnate; I didn't see any difference between the different difficulty modes damage or enemy count wise), this is understandable since I believe the first level of the demo was the first level of the game. The second level, the catacomb one filled with zombies, was genuinely creepy, although I'm glad to hear it's only one of two undead-filled levels. Can't speak for the MP demo, however, 'cause I haven't played it. 56k.
KordKelly
It kinda sounds to me like you have either a corrupted download, or you had a virus scanner running while you installed.... Try re-installing without the Virus Scanner enabled. If that doesn't work (Or if it wasn't running originally) then re-download the demo and try again... Hope this helps... The SP demo was great, now I *really* want this game!! (I'll save the MP until I get the game;))

I have to agree with Simpson what are you talking about? And I dont think Its a resolution problem, It probably supports 1600x1200 Your video card probably isnt good enough to view the game as it truly is

I'm not registered there but I lurk occasionally. Just curious. If so, you'd be the second person I've met here that I know from another forum. Great sig, BTW. Guest X-Vector
Yeah, I am he and he is me. For the record, my nick seems to be quite unique, the only time I've come across someone else using it was when I tracked cnet's (?) online player stats and saw an X-Vector on the TFC ladder (a game that I have never played). The Q3, UT, EF and RTCW (demo) stats were mine though. I'm glad you like my sig, it's a bit of an Alpha and Omega thing.
bsbuckeye21
I (finally) found it at the official RTCW forums. I had to rename either the 1st or 2nd dll file (I guess it depends on the machine) under the gl directory to "somename.bak". Now there's a strange fix. KordKelly
Renaming the file with the .bak extension makes the file a backup, not a .dll (dynamic link library) file, so the program won't look to this file, and cause conflicts with the "good" .dll file. Actually, a very sound (and easy;)) fix for the problem.
bsbuckeye21
I figured that, but why would they throw them both in?
KordKelly
possibly for compatability between the Windows 9x series and Windows 2000/XP.
