A "Different" type of combat

I was talking about the way the massive 4 level tech battles will be carried out with a friend.

And with many recent forum interests into the comparisons between AOK and GB, it was brought to my attention that the battles will be carried out with more higher efficiancy, and more skill.

 

Why? well in AOK even the most experianced player will sometimes have problems controling 50 paladins or 100 champions for the fact that they go chasing after anything, regardless the odds against them.

 

Not saying this wont happen in GB, but because (basically) everything is ranged, you can actually move in lines of troops instead of having you troops wonder off and chase down trade carts

 

I know this can be avoided sometimes, but no-one can say it never happends. I just think that battles will be much more structered with greater control of armies of large proportion.. thus making a game better and more skill oriantated.

interesting point, although Gaber himself has pointed out that there are enough melee fighters to rule out any 'all-ranged' battles..

jedi/sith, wookies beserker, workers, and mounted units are only non-ranged combat units, or u can count the pummell

Yea, but what he is saying is "Most" of the units are ranged.

and the Naboo crusader after researching fully is just as shielded as a hvy assault mech which would make it a very good unit since the Naboo arent good with mechs
