can someone tell me how to open certain firewall numbers

fer eg zone said that the firewall port 6667 has to be open to be able to play

how do i check if its open and how do i make it open

 

please help

I dont know much about this, but If that port is required to be opened to play on the zone, is probably something that uses to be open, unless you use some kind of firewall

if you use a firewall It depends on the software how to open the ports

Well, is it a piece of software or a piece of hardware?

 

If it's software, there will probably be an icon on the task bar, by the clock. Poke around the software to find the name.

 

Follow your connection from where it enters your house, to the computer. If you get to a box that you can't identify, it is either a modem(cable probably), or a firewall. The firewall is the box closer to your computer. The manufacturer should be listed on the box.

 

If your at work, then you'll need to have port 6667 forwarded to your machine. I doubt he'll cooperate...but you can always bribe him.
