Guest Tie Guy Posted November 10, 2001 Share Posted November 10, 2001 "Thanks Big Bertha. 3 flight, can i get some help over here, these guys seem to have shunted their shields, you can take 'em out easy" *as i see the two x-wings pull up behind me i see the TIE start to shoot. the first few bolts miss, and i dive hard and port* "Now 2 flight!!!" *Their red lasers penetrate 2 of the TIES, killing one and incapicitating the other. The 2 remaining TIEs break and the X-eings criss-cross as they stay on the tail of each of the remaining TIEs, letting loose deadly red bolts of energy* "Thanks for the assist guys. We don't have long before those two TIE squads come in from the base. 1 flight form up on me, we are going after the squints chasing the Scythes. 2 and 3 flights keep on these 4 remaing TIEs." *I see the squints flying in formation, but with several holes. Then i see one x-wing explode. I target the squint who fired the shots and let off my lasers continuously. One shot, by chance perhaps, caught him in the rear on his pod. A small explosion occurred and when it cleared i saw that the int was dead in space, i must have hit is ion drives. Another two of my bolts fried off half of his starboard solar panel, and he was slowly dirfting back towards the garrison. My wingman had fired their shots too, and since we had the suprise element, and the fact that the squints were flying in formation, they each managed to knock off a TIE, and their numbers were down by a half.* "Great shooting guys, now take your targets and go!." *i pull around behind one of the scattering squints and fire my shots, but they all miss right. The pilot pulls into a large climb, but i put my engines on 2/3 power and get ahead of him in the climb, though behind him in distance. I line it up, and release my deadly bolts of energy, they impact square into the pod, and the int explodes and vanishes instantly. I notice that green 3 and 4 also got their targets as well, that left only one, and Scythe Leader was closing in on it.* "Greens, report in." Green 9: We took care of those TIEs for ya boss "Thanks, now, lets form up and prepare to meet those TIEs from the garrison. They'll be here in 2 minutes. We are going to try to overwhelm them. Because you were flying in that formation, my squadron destroyed all but 1 of your Ints, and that was all of the ints. You only had one squadron. All they have left now are those reinforcements and maybe some turboids. Three of the hulking cannons explode with only two remaining. Guess I had better do it myself! in one pass, half of green squadron is decimated. Eta 1 is still prime! uh oh, won't start! lemme try again! angangangangangangang (sound of a bad engine starting) wow, it started... Better stop them before they get the reinforcements... It may be the end..... ****************************** here come the CHISS!!!! (just kidding!) The interceptor goes full speed (or what is full speed) into the bridge of the frigate, It shakes and explosion rocks the ship... severe damage is caused... but it is hanging on by a thread... Ok, all remaining fighters pull into attack position. On my mark i want everyone to fire continuously for 3 seconds at the TIEs and then pull break and engage your targets. I want all of 1 flight to target the lead TIE. Watch out, these guys are good, but they still don't have shields. Use your wingman and team up on them. Do not engage the assault gunboats if they come into range. Just worry about the fighters, let the Big Bertha take care of them. Got that Big Bertha, you've gotta cover us." *i pull up straight in front of the oncoming TIEs and see both squdrons of fighters do likewise. I wait anxiously for them to come into range. I hear my Switch, my R2 unit, beep that they would be coming into range in five seconds. 5.....4....3.....2....1* "FIRE!!!..........Now take your targets and go!" *i see several explosions in the distance, and i noticed that of the 3 X-wings targeting the lead fighter, and single bolt strucj the TIE. As he swerved to avoid the fire he was hit with a stray shot that sent him spiraling into the astroid field where his ship exploded. I pulled down hard to engage a fighter flying by. Since we had an odd humber of ships left, i got stuck without a wingman. I pulled up out out of m turn behind the fighter, but i couldn't get a good shot at him. You are out numbered." *as this comes over Green leader's com system a targeting lock alarm rings in his cockpit...It seems in all the confusion of the battle 3 TIEs from the 85th have locked onto Green's tail...He immediatly jukes, but even as he does his fighter's shielding is hit...luckly the lasers were not able to blast through his shields, but that does not mean the 2nd and 3rd blast will be reflected by the shields...he had to think of something fast* "Sir, We just can't shake these guys!!! Guest Tie Guy Posted November 12, 2001 Share Posted November 12, 2001 "Switch, all shields aft!!!!!!!" *the second shot hit on the reingforced shields, but did not penetrate while the third shot missed wide. I had too think of something quick. Just while i was thinking that i saw Green 9 slash through the TIE formation, drilling right through a TIE with his lasers, and scattering the remaining two. One broke left, or right. He pulled around to engage the one of on the right, and i swung back to target the one on the left. As i pulled out of my turn and loop i saw the fighter in my sight just for a second and i fired two quick shots. Both missed wide. I turned to follow the TIE and i managed to get behind it. He feigned a climb and then dove sharply into a loop. I, meanwhile, pulled up into a loop that took me up, as i came out of the loop i fired off a continuous stream of shots, knowing he should be coming out of his loop in my line of fire. As i turned around i saw the TIE for the blink of an eye before it exploded and i flew through the remaining debris with a jolt.* "9, report in" Nine: Still here boss "Thanks for the assist back there, but where's 10?" All fighter fall back closer to the Big Bertha, we can get cover from the Frigate. Snubfighter destroying is their primary purpose after all." *i see the entire X-wing formation start falling back, buit then i see the TIEs in a large X formation. Then i see another, smaller explosion. A TIE was killed in its own crossfire, i couldn't believe the luck, or stupidity. It would take an "Elite" officer to try a stunt like that, with so much risk involved.* "Ok, all fighters full speed. Go behind the frigate, giving it a chance to fire freely, then come swing around and attack the TIEs head on." ************* BTW heavyarms. You stick to what your guys say, i'll stick to what my guys say. And don't go around giving my guys names. Oh, and you do control all of the TIE Fighters.
