I agree. In the books, the Force seems to speed up the reaction rate of the Jedi by incredible amounts, so he/she is effortlessly moving their lightsaber to block shots (remember, not only does the Jedi have to be fast enough to block it, but they also have to aim right and be able to react quickly enough).
